Behind the Yigal Azrouël Fall 2016 Runway
Share
The Yigal Azrouël Fall 2016 collection explores the duality of light and darkness, innocence and impurity. The contrasting elements are intertwined and flowing in unison.
It's with great artistic influence, that each collection offers a blank canvas; a new chapter in an evolutionary story with no beginning and no end. By following intuition, Yigal's creative process lies in the trust, through draping and deconstruction - of the unexpected formation of silhouettes, texture and precise composition.
The juxtaposition of light and dark, hard and soft is evoked through modern paintings in decadent textures. An array of rich hues on structured jacquards are met with color blocked patchwork minks and luxe knits, while silk twill receives a jolt of dimension in architectural pleating, framing and layered, structured silhouettes. Considered cut-out details and graphic black and white expose a strength, inner light and vibrancy from the complexity of the woman on which the collection is created.
The undeniable hero of the season is the centerpiece of a black rose, the symbol that in all darkness there is beauty.
