Introducing the Fall 2016 Collection
Exploring the duality of light and darkness, innocence and impurity, the Fall 2016 Collection offers an array of rich hues on structured jacquards met with color blocked patchwork minks and luxe knits. Considered cut-out details and graphic black and white expose a strength, inner light and vibrancy from the complexity of the woman on which the collection is created.
"'This was a clean-slate idea for me,' said Yigal Azrouël at his Fall show today: 'A girl who has innocence, but also a real darkness.' That would imply melancholy over anything hard or menacing, which, on its own, is a tough emotion from which to build a collection. But Azrouël saw beauty in the disparity, and likened its symbolism to a black rose."

"Yigal Azrouël’s gorgeous, decadent fall collection was a study in contrasts: light and darkness, innocence and impurity. Azrouël achieved that feeling of depth via impressive textile manipulation seen throughout his offering, which featured rich brocades and paisley jacquards, burnout velvets and embroidered lace. Case in point: the series of leather bomber jackets accented with patchwork color-blocked mink that opened the show, juxtaposing hard and soft elements."
